Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Submitter: Mickey Fournier PO Box 1967 Lake City, FL 32056 fournier@hankins.com ---------------------- Will of Benjamin Love In the name of God amen I Benjamin Love of Chester County and provence of South Carolina being of perfict Soundness of Mind and memory and calling to Mind the Mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men to Die Do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to Say Principly and first of all I give and Recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that Give it and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in Decent Christian Burral at the Discretion of my Executors Nothing Doubting but at the General Resurection I Shall Receve the Same again by the almighty power of God, and touching Such worldly Estate Whearwith it has pleased God to Bless me in this Life I give Devise and Dispose of the Same in the following manner and form---------- first I give and bequeath unto my Son James Love two Negroes named Simon and Phillis and two Mares known by the Name of Beauty and Fly and a horse named Jacky and a Mear named Flower and her colt------ I give and bequeath unto my Son John Gaston Love two Negros Named Sam and Dina With a Horse named Hunter and a Mare Named Jupeter and her Colt named Rainbow and a Colt named Dick------------ I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Love two Negros named Peter and Dublin and a Mear Named Bonney and her Colt Named Dimond and one Womans Saddle and Bridle--------- I Give to my two Sons James and John Each of them one mans Saddle and my wearing apparel to be Equally Divided between them: the Remaining part of my personal Estate Goods and Chatles (except thirty pounds to be hereafter bequethed) I give to my Wife and Three Children aforesaid to each of them an equal part except two cows and calves which I give and bequeath to my two Grand Sons Benjamin and Isack Love to be each of them one the four tracts of land which I possess on Turky Creek Waters I give and bequeth to my two Sons James and John Turky Creek to be the Line Between them from the Lower End of my Land to the Mouth of a winter Run called the Steep Hollow from thence to Mathew Rodgers Corner my son James part of the land part of said lands to be all that is on the North Side of Turky Creek and that part that is on the South Side of the Creek above the mouth of the aforesaid Run and Line to Rodgers Corner aforesaid to be my Son Johns part of Said Lands and Like Wise Thirty Pounds Sterling to make him Equal with his brothers----------------------- The tract of three Hundred acres of Land Which I purchased from Hugh McCluer I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth and any of my three Children Dying Without Issue all their Land Which I have Willed to them to Descend to their surviving Brothers or Sister Equaly; the aforesaid Bequethments of three Hundred acres of Land to my Daughter Elizabeth is to her and her Lawful Issue as Like Turnover wise her Negros in Intended for the foresaid purpose I further Will that my beloved Wife Jean if She Continues in Widowhood until my Children come of Age that then she Shall have Sufficient maintenance During the Course of her Natural Live Equaly from my three Children out of the bequethments made to them out of my Estate, I Leave my three Children afforsaid under the Care of my beloved Wife to be brought up With Sufficient Victuals Clothing and Schooling until they arrive at the years & Descration During which She is to enjoy the Beforementioned Bequeathments Which I have Left to them: I Likewise Constitute Make and ordain my Beloved Wife Jean and my Son James and Hugh McClure Sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I Do hereby utterly Disalow Revock and Disanull all Will or Wills by me heretofore made and Declare this to be my Last Will and Testament in Witness Whereof I have herunto Set my Hand and affixed my Seal this thirtyeth Day of September one thousand Seven hundred and Ninty three. I John Love of Chester County and state of South Carolina--being sick in body, but of perfect mind and memory - Thanks be to God, and Calling to mind the Mortality of my body, and that it is appointed for all men once to die - Have made & ordained this my last will and Testament - And first, I give my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it, nothing doubting but I shall receive the same at the resurrection by his power - And my body I commit to the dust to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Executors here after named.
