The State of South Carolina, County of Colleton Know all men by these presents, that I, Mary J. Cone of Colleton County and State aforesaid, married woman, in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to me paid by G.A. Norwood and company of the City of Charleston, County of Charleston, and State aforesaid, Factors and commissioners merchants the firm of G.A. Norwood & Company consisting of Geo. A. Norwood Jr. and E.L. Wilkins of the City and State aforesaid have granted, bargained, sold, and released, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, and release unto the said Geo. A. Norwood and Company all of that piece or parcel of land situated, lying, and being in St. Paul's Parish, Colleton County and the State aforesaid containing two hundred acres and bounded by lands of Charles A. Tumbleston on the north, on the south by lands known as Clarks, on the east by land of same tract belonging to Mrs. M.J. Cone, and on the west by land formerly known as Dily Flodd now owned by Benjamin Stokes as a plat of same bearing date of March A.D. 1892 drawn by Louis A. Strobel, surveyor, will more fully show. This piece of land is part of a tract of land of three hundred and ninety nine acres granted to John C. Wood on the eighth day of September A.D. 1847 conveyed by Wood to Tumbleston by said Tumbleston to James Elzy and by said Elzy to Pinckney Lacy and by said Lacy to Mary J. Cone. TOGETHER, with all and singular the Rights, Members, Hereditaments and appurtenances to the said Premises belonging, or in anywise incident or appertaining: TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, all and singular the said premises before mentioned unto the said Geo. A. Norwood and Company, their Heirs and Assigns forever. And I do hereby bind my Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Geo. A. Norwood and Company, their Heirs and Assigns, against myself and my Heirs, or any other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming, or to claim the same, or any part thereof WITNESS my Hand and Seal, this the nineteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety two and in the 116th year of the Sovereignty and Independence of the United States of America.
