Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Ronda Sword Winkfein (rwinkfein@aol.com) July 26, 1998 ---------------------------------------- Book 8, Page 299 Mrs. Mary Jane Cone To Eliza Jane Tumbleston Conveyance The State of South Carolina Know all men by these presents, that I, Mary Jane Cone in the State aforesaid, a married woman and freeholder, in consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid at and before the sealing of these presents by Eliza Jane Tumbleston in the State aforesaid, (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged), have granted, bargained, sold, and released, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, and release unto the said Eliza Jane Tumbleston all that piece, parcel, or tract of land situated, lying, and being in Burns Township, Colleton County measuring and containing one hundred acres, more or less, butting and bounding on the north by lands of Tumbleston and Muckenfus, on the south by lands of Sheppard, on the east by lands of the said Mary Jane Cone, and on the west by lands of B. Stokes. The above land is received and is accepted by the said Eliza Jane Tumbleston as her full and equal share and child part of the real estate of the said Mary Jane Cone and W.F. Cone. TOGETHER, with all and singular the Rights, Members, Hereditaments and appurtenances to the said Premises belonging, or in anywise incident or appertaining: TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, all and singular the said premises before mentioned unto the said Eliza Jane Tumbleston, her Heirs and Assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself and my Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Eliza Jane Tumbleston, her Heirs and Assigns, against me and my Heirs, and all other persons lawfully claiming, or to claim the same, or any part thereof. WITNESS Hand and Seal, this twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety five and in the 120th year of the Sovereignty and Independence of the United States of America.
