In the Name of God Amen, I Benning Skipper of Colleton County of the province aforesaid planter being Sick and Weak in Body but of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same and Calling to mind the mortality of my Body do make Constitute and appoint this to be my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following That is to say first and Principally I Commend my soul into the hands of Almighty ALMIGHTY God hoping for full pardon and forgiveness for all my Sins through the Merritts of Christ Jesus my Saviour and as for my Body I Recommend it to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executrix and Executor Hereafter named and as touching my Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to Bestow upon me I Give Devise and Dispose of in Manner and form followg That is to say first and Principally I Will that all my Just Debts and funeral Expences be first paid and Discharged.--- IMPRIMIS I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Dear and well Beloved Wife Lidia Skipper four of my Negroes Namely Dick July Cloe and Joe and her now Riding Horse named Trimmer and her Saddle to be Delivered to her immediately after my Decease Clear of all Imcumbrances of Debts and Charges to her and her heirs for ever. ITEM I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my well Beloved Mother Ann Ferguson all the rest and Residue of my Estate both real and Personall whatsoever and wheresoever to her for ever she paying and Discharging my Just Debts, LASTLY I Constitute Nominate and appoint my well Beloved Mother Ann Ferguson and my true and Trusty Friend and Brother in Law John Andrews Executrix and Executor, of this my Last Will and Testament making null and Void all other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made Ratifying and Confirming this to be my Last Will and Testament, IN WITNESS Thereunto I have sett my hand and Seal this Twenty Ninth Day of November one thousand Seven hundred fforty and three.--- Signed Sealed and Delivered Benning Skipper in the presence of James Skirving Hugh Grange Thoms Ferguson This will was Proved by Virtue of a Dedimus Before Charles Wright Esqr the 17th Day of March 1743 at the same time Qualified the Executrix.
