I, Mildred Gerrald of Craven County, South Carolina, in the province aforesaid, being weak in body but of sound memory blessed be God, do this ninth day of October 1762 in the second year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith, do make and publish and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it, my body to the earth to be interred with decent burial. And as for what worldly estate as is pleased God to bless me with, I dispose of in the following manner and form. I give to my beloved grandson Kemp Taliaferro Strother, son of William, my Negro girl called Daphney. The other part and whole remainder I do will that all my whole estate be kept together till the heirs come of age. That is to say, my deceased husband William Strother estate heirs Lucy, Benjamin and Samuel Strother, and then the whole equally divided. I do also give and ordain and order that all the estate real and personal be kept in the care and possession of said William Strother, my beloved son, till Gabriel Gerrald, heir at law to James Gerrald, my last deceased husband, comes to the age of twenty and one. And then my part of the estate to be divided equally between my two beloved sons Benjamin and Samuel Strother equally shared by my beloved son William Strother aforesaid, who I hereby constitute and appoint sole executor of this my last will and testament, declaring this and no other to be my only last will and testament.
