Constantia B. Townsend to Hope Ruffin
[Delivered to C.J. Ruffin May 20, 1896]

I Constantia B. Townsend of Darlington County for and in consideration of the
sum of One Hundred to me in hand paid by Hope Ruffin of Darlington County,  have
granted to Hope Ruffin

All that certain parcel or lot of land lying and being situate in the county of
Darlington in the State aforesaid, containing TWO acres and lying in the angle
of the BLUFF ROAD leading from SOCIETY HILL to PEE DEE River and the old QUARTER
Road, commencing at the corner of said roads and running N. 45 S 10.00 to a
stake on "Old QUARTER ROAD"

Thence N 15 W. 150 to a stake 
thence S 73 W to a stake
Thence N 15 W to a stake on "old Quarter Road" and thence along Bluff Road N 78
E 12.40 to the beginning corner ab wads? which said lot as designated on Plat
made by W.H. Jamison D.S. of all my lands as as wast? "C" said plat being dated
the 29th day of June 1887 and being the same lot sold to Hope Ruffin by my
father, B.D. Townsend in his life time and paid for by him and on which he has
lived since he was put into possession by my father.

To have and to hold by Hope Ruffin, his heirs and assigns forever.
My hand and seal this the second day of July 1887 and in the 13th year of
Independence.   Constantia B. Townsend

Note: Constantia Townsend married Frank Pegues & sells nearby land to Cornelius
Ruffin 1890.
