MS on Jun 4, 1856. She stated that she was married to John Ruffin in Darlington District S.C. on 12 March 1808 by Benjamin Mosley, a minister of the Gospel, and that her name before marriage was Mercy Hill. Affidavits supporting her claim were made by Stephen R. Ruffin and Sarah Childress (?a married daughter?) Additional Comments: John Ruffin was son of Stephen and Rachel Ruffin =====1840 Simpson Co.
