All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/sc/scfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carol Miller cmiller20@comcast.net July 11, 2005 Source: Darlington Will Book Ii, Page 13 Written: February 16, 1860 Recorded: March 1, 1860 State of South Carolina, Darlington District In the name of God amen I John Beasley of the State and district aforesaid Being of Sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make ordain publish and disclose this to be my last will and testament the first after all my lawfill debts are paid and discharged the residue of my estate real and personal I give Bequeath and dispose of as follows Item 1)to wit I will and bequeath to my son Ira Beasley one bead headstead matres bolster two pillows four sheat and five covers also one sow and pigs Item 3) I will and bequeath to my son Stephen Z Beasley one bead headstead bolster two pillows four sheats five covers Item 4) I will and devise all my estate or otherwise all the residue or remainded of my real and personal estate to be Sold and the money equally divided into Eight parts Seven equal portions I will and bequeath to seven of my living children to wit William Beasley, Elijah Beasley, Stephen Z Beasley, Ira Beasley, Nancy Harel wife of James Harel, Sally Skiner wife of John Skiner, and Simpson Beasley Seven of them to Share and Share alike or their heirs who may be living at the time of my decrease to be divided equally among them Item 5)the last will of me John Beasley of the State ad district aforesaid I give and devise all of the Eighth portion of the rest residue and remained of my estate real or personal to my son Stephen Z Beasley to have and to hold the same to himself his heirs and assigns forever upon the uses and trust folowing namely first to lay the money out to the best use and Sole Benefit of my daughter Lany Skiner wife of Jese Skiner should she died before me the heirs of her body to have the portion that there mother was to get if my daughter Lany Skiner should dye before all of her children comes to the age of twentyone I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Son Stephen A Beasley her said trustee Guardian of her Said children and after there mothers death as they come of the age of twentyone her trustee is to equally divide the remainder betwene the whole of her children Share and Share alike hereby revoking all former wills by me made in int___ whereof I have herewith Subscribed my mark and afixed my Seal this the Sixteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Sixty John his Beasley (LS) x mark The above written instrument was subscribed by the said John Beasley in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us and he at the same time published and declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last will and testament and we at the testators request and in his presence have signed our names as i_____________ta HM Woodham (LS) JE Woodham (LS) Jehu Mixon (LS) Additional Comments: John's wife, Mary Anna, died in 1858.
