Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Mary Ann Million mam@itexas.net November 3, 1997 --------------------------- Will of John Chandler State of South Carolina } Darlington District } In the name of God Amen I John Chandler of State and District afore said being in sound mind and memory but calling to mind the mortality of my body and certainty of death do make and constitute this my last will and testament in manner and form following VIZ: I first recommend my soul in to hands of God that gave it and my body to be buried in Christian for and order and as it respects my temporal conserns and what goods and chattles God hath given me I will in the first place that all my just debts be paid and secondly give all my present stock of horses hogs and cattle including all my house hold and kitchen furniture to my six daughters VIZ: Margaret Langston, Drusiller More, Hester Moor, Luccanzy Langston, Emaly and Archady Chandler and likewise my negro Betsey and her increase to be given to my six daughters likewise first the youngest one to me made equeal with these who are now married and then and equeal portion among the whole six all which I design to take place at my descease and not before but it is also to be understood that there is at this time and intended marriage about to take place between me and Ann Brown and if I should decease before her my will and desire is that my intended wife if left a widow should have a decent and unwastefull suport during her natural life or widowhood and then the remaining portion of the above named property as above to be disposed to my daughters and further if we viz myself and intended wife should live together to accumulate more welth the surplus or future income to be equally divided between my children and hers all to be disposed of by Wright Langston and Samuel Chandler whom I have chose and ordained executors to this my last will and testament Revolking all others by me heretofore made and this to be my only last will and testament in witnefs where of I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal this 22nd Day of April in the year of our Lord 1829.
