Will of Benjamin Hill

“November the 8 Day 1794

In the name of god amen whereas I Benjamin Hill of Darlington County, and 
State of South-Carolina. Being weak in body but in my right mind & sound 
memory, first comiting my Body to the dust. from whence it came, to be 
desently Buryed, agreeable to will of Executors, & Recommend my soul into the 
hands of Almighty God who Gave it, and as to all my worlyGood. I make this and 
publish it to be my laft will and teftament in manner following, that is to 
say)

First I Give unto my Daughter Prisula Miles one shillings 

Secondly I Give unto my son John Hill one shilling sterling

Thirdly I give unto my son Nathanel Hill one Cow & Calf and sow and pigs & one 
Ewe and Lamb, at his marriage or my Death

Fourthly I Give unto my Daughter Nancy Hill one Cow & Calf & one Ewe & Lamb & 
one sow & piggs

Fifthly I give unto my Daughter Mary Chessannant one fsitting store

Sixly I give unto my Son Joel the Land where I now live. 150 Acres. after his 
Mothers. Death Viz she having his life time in wit or if she marries, Either,)

I give unto my son Theophilus Hill 100 Acres of Land as joining the plantation 
or other tract

And all the rest of my Estate Cattle Hoggs Sheep & Horses & all my Housel 
furniture & movable property of Every kind I leave unto my beloved wife Ann 
Hill During Hir life or widowhood after I Give all the mentioned Stocks & 
Estate until Elijah Hill. & Rachel Hill & Milly Hill to be Eaqualy Divided & 
Desire or Leave my friend Jonathan Bowell to be my Executor & my wife Ann to 
be my Exetricks
