Will of Thomas Meltier  Mar 1819 Probate 1824

Ordinary's Office Recorded in Book H. page 82 Wills 7

Cordell Hull and Richard Hung two of the subscribing witnesses to the within
will made oath that they were personally present (proving will...sworn to this
4th Oct 1824.

Ordinary's office 17th November 1824, then appeared Shepard Ruffin who was duly
qualified as Aministrator with the will annexed.

In the name of God Amen.
I, Thomas MELTIER being in a low state of health do constitute this my last will
and testament. I resign my Soul to God Who gave it and my body to the grave in
hope of a Joyfull resurrection, at the last Judgement through the redeemer. 

In the first place, I wish my body to be decently interred after the common custom.

In the next place I do will unto my dear and beloved wife, Nancy Meltier, all my
property except the land until her death and after her death to SHEPHERD RUFFIN,
and his heirs forever. I do will to Shepherd Ruffin all my land and to the heirs
of his body forever.

I wish for the said Shepherd Ruffin to live with my beloved wife and to take
care of her her lifetime and for them to live together as they ever have done
and for them to enjoy the property together until her death to Shepherd Ruffin
and his heirs forever.

In the next place I desire for all my debts to be settled out of the property
Such as is seem proper to be Sold

As Witness my hand and seal this 1st of March 1819,
