Hodges Lakeland, Florida ------------------------ Will of Jacob Parrott, Sr. The State of South Carolina) I Jacob Parrott Senior of the state aforesaid Darlington District do this twenty-first day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty make ordain and publish this as my last will and Testament in manner and form following (viz) First My Will and desire is that after my decease my body be buried in a Christian-like manner at the discretion of my surviving children; and that all my just debts and funeral charges be personally paid--Secondly my will and desire is that my executors pay Elizabeth McNeese, Seany Skinner, Charlotte Kelly, Jacob Parrott, Joseph, each, two dollars as their respective share of my estate. Having heretofore allotted each of the above named children their shares and put them in the possession thereof. Thirdly, I give and devise to my daughter Louisa Parrott a negro boy named Haywood & a negro girl named Nancy, one good Horse bridle and Saddle two likely cows and calves and Sixty Dollars in money, and one featherbed and furniture complete to her and the said Louisa Parrott & her heirs and assigns forever. Fourthly, I lend to my wife Penelope Parrott for and during her natural life only, my Plantation including all my Lands with improvements on the South side of Swift creek, and also Six negroes (to wit) Judy, Rab, Rose, London, Jesse, and Fanny with their future issue and increase with all the remainder of my estate not Otherwise disposed of for the support of my wife & my Youngest daughter, while she may remain with her said mother and after the death of my said wife Penelope. I give devise and bequeath my lands on the South side of Swift Creek & run out to the __?__line, the lower division is to be Jacob Parrotts and the upper division Joseph Parrotts, to them and their heirs and assigns forever. Fifthly, I Give devise and bequeath to my several daughters above named who may survive my said wife Penelope, all the residue of my negroes, Stock goods therein with all the remainder of my estate of every kind and description, to them my said daughters and their respective heirs and assigns forever.
