JOSEPH DENNIS HAYES SR.
Latta - Service for Joseph Dennis Hayes Sr., will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in 
Cooper Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation is 7-9 p.m. 
today in the funeral home.
Mr. Hayes, 88, died Tuesday, in St. Eugene Medical Center.
Born in Marlboro County, Dec. 29, 1909, he was the son of the late James J 
Hayes and Virginia Lorena Pierce Hayes.  He was a retired construction worker 
and was a member of Manning Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph D. Jr. and Joanne Hayes 
of Houston, Tx.; daughters, Mary H Miller of Wilmington, N.C., Betty Collins 
of Cayce; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce H. and Howard Dotson of Eustis, Fla., 
and Carolyn H Doak of Roanoke, Va,; seven grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela L. Hayes; his brother James 
Herbert, George Clifton, and William Preston Hayes; sister; Annie Lee Lowder; 
grandson, Roger Miller; and his son-in-law, John Doak.
