Twenty Ninth day of August in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Eight. I Parmenas Way of Liberty County in the State of Georgia, Planter, being by the blessing of God in health of Body, and of Sound mind and memory calling to mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all, I give and Recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Buried in decent Christian Burial, at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, And as touching such Worldly Estate where with it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give Demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First my Will is that all my Debts and Funeral Charges be first paid. Item my Will is that my beloved Wife Elizabeth Way have the use of the Plantation where we now dwell, my Mansion House, Barn, Kitchen and all other Buildings on said Plantation, and all the pasture Lands, and that She have the liberty to Cut Timber for Building on said Plantation for Fencing for Barrels, or Fire Wood, off either of my Tracts of Land as shall be most Convenient or agreeable to her, that She likewise have the Use of half my Stock of Cattle, all my Sheep and Hogs, and all my Household Furniture while she continues my Widow. Item I likewise give to my said beloved Wife During her Natural like, the use of the following Negroes and their Issue Viz: Stepney, Guy, Anthony, Nanney, Betty, Soipio little Flora, little Nero, little Daphney, and old Flora, and half of my Horses, Item I give to my beloved Son Parmenas Way the use of all my other Lands and Negroes, and the other half of my Stock of Cattle and Horses, my Wearing Apparel and my Watch. Item after the death of my Said beloved Wife, I give and Bequeath to my beloved Grand Daughter Martha Way my Negro Girl called Little flora, and her Issue, and one Feather Bed and Furniture to her heirs and Assigns for ever. Item then I give and Bequeath to my beloved and only Son Parmenas Way, all the rest of my Estate both real and personal to him his Heirs and Assigns for ever. And that this my last Will and Testament may be carried into full Effect I Constitute make & ordain my dear Wife Elizabeth Way my Executrix, and my beloved Son Parmenas Way, and my Trusty friends Thomas Sumner and Thomas Baker my Executors of this my last Will and Testament, and I do hereby utterly disallow, Revoke, and disannul all and every other former Testaments Wills Legacies, bequests and Executors by me in any ways before named Willed and Bequeathed, Ratifying and Confirming this, and no other to be my last Will and Testament. Item it is likewise my desire that my Executors within mentioned Shall Charge Commissions on all my Transactions on the Estate of Thomas Pecock this I declare to be my desire and Acknowledge it to be a Codicil to my Will this March the 1. 1779.
