Rutland Administrator Recorded Page 210 Filed 21st January 1863 State of South Carolina Edgefield District On the application of L.P. Rutland, Administrator of the Estate of A. Rutland deceased, It is ordered that he do sell at the late residence of said deceased, on Tuesday the first day of April next, all the personal estate of said decease, on a credit until the ___day of___, with interest from day of sale, Purchasers to give note with ample security. Sale not to commence earlier than ten o'clock AM. Given under my had, at my office, this the seventeenth day of March AD 1862 Ordinary's Office Edgefield, SC Letters of Administration State of South Carolina Edgefield District By W.F. Durisoe, Esq, Ordinary To L.P. Rutland Whereas, Abraham Rutland, late of the District and State aforesaid deceased, lately died intestate, having whilst he lived, at the time of his death, divers goods, rights and credits, within the District and State aforesaid; by means whereof the full disposition and power of granting the administration of all and singular the goods, rights and credits of the said deceased, and also auditing the accounts, calculations and reckonings of the said administration, and a final dismission of the same, to me is manifestly known to belong. I desiring that the goods, rights and credits of the said deceased, may be well and truly administered, converted and disposed of, do hereby grant unto the said L.P. Rutland full power, by the tenor of these presents, to administer the goods, rights and credits of the said deceased, which to him in his lifetime, and at the time of his death, did belong; and to ask, levy, recover and received the same, and to pay the debts in which the deceased stood obliged, so far forth as his goods, rights and credits will extend according to their rate and order of law, being first sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God, to make a true and perfect inventory thereof, and to exhibit the same into the Ordinary's office in Edgefield District, in order to be recorded, on or before the First day of July now next ensuing; and to render a just and true account, calculation and reckoning of the said administration, when thereunto required: And I ordain, depute and constitute you the said L.P. Rutland administrator of all and singular the goods, rights and credits of the said deceased. Rutland Corn 42.00 Administration Bond State of South Carolina Edgefield District know all men by these presents, that we L.P. Rutland, L.B. Lott and S.M. Wiliamson are holden and firmly bound unto Wm F Durisoe Esquire, Ordinary for the District of Edgefield, in the full and just sum of Seven Thousand Dollars, l wful Money of this State, to be paid to the said Wm F Durisoe or his successors, Ordinaries of this District, or their certain attorney or assigns. To which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, and every of us, our, and every of our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, for the whole, and in the whole, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated the Seventeenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two (1862). The condition of the above obligations is such, that if the above bound L.P. Rutland, Administrator of the goods, ch ttles and credits of Abraham Rutland, deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattles, and credits of the said deceased,which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of the said L.P. Rutland or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made, do exhibit in to the said Court of Ordinary, when he shall be thereunto required, and such goods, chattles and credits, do well and truly administer according to law, and do make a just and true account of his actings and doings therein when required by the said Court, and all the rest of the said goods, chattles and credits, which shall be found remaining upon the account of the persons respectively as are entitled to the same by law: and if it shall hereafter appear, that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased, and the same be proved in Court, and the Executor obtain a certificate of the probate thereof and the said L.P.Rutland , Administrator in such case, if required, do render and deliver up the said letters of Administration, then this Obligation to be void, or else to remain in full force.
