Durisoe, Esq. Ordinary of said District. The humble petition of John Marshall Lott, respectfully serveth, that he has a small personal estate coming to him from his father's estate and deserves that Mr. Hiram Holston may be appointed guardian of his person and estate as he is under the age of twenty one viz about eighteen years of age and your petioner will ever pray to. Test. A.W. Asbill John M. Lott Lotts, SC Feb 3, 1859 W.F. Durisoe Esq O.E.D. Dear Sir, I saw in the last Edgefield Advertiser that Mr. W.W. Asbil l has applied for letters of Administration on the estate o f Marshall Lott, deceased. I have nothing against Mr. Asbil l, but as _____ is a near relation of mine and believing i n the duty of the relatives of the deceased to act for th e minor child, I object to Mr. Asbill's Administrating on m y brother's estate, and if there was to be a second Adminis trations I now apply for the Administration and you can hav e it announced in the Advertiser. I don't know whether I a m competent or not but under present circumstances, I shal l try as this estate is quiet small and the children ______ _ be they can get and I can act for them as cheap as any pe rson. I don't expect Mr. Asbill will have any objection t o it as he has lost nothing. I shall be up Monday or Tuesd ay next and we can arrange matters. Yours very respectfully, John Lott This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/scfiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
