Given under my hand and seal, this twenty fifth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven and in the sixty second year of American Independence. O Towles OED LS Warrant of Appraisement-Edgefield Advertiser Print The State of South Carolina Edgefield District By O Towles Esq Ordinary of Edgefield District These are to authorize and empower you, or any three of four of you, whose names are hereunder written, to repair to all such parts and places within this State, as you shall be direct unto by Elbert Lott administrator of the goods and chattels, rights and credits of Jesse Lott, deceased, wheresoever any of the said goods and chattels are or do remain within the said parts and places, and which shall be shown unto you by the said administrator and there view and appraise all and every the said goods and chattels, being first sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, to make a true and perfect inventory and appraisement thereof, and to cause the same to be returned under your hands, or any three or four of you, unto the said administrator on or before the Second day of December next. O Towles OED To Messrs John Lott Freeman Taylor William Mobley Appraisers Michael Watson Richard Ward Memorandum-That on the 14th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 37, personally appeared before me Lewis Holmes one of the Justices assigned to keep the peace in Edgefield District. William Mobley, John Lott and Freeman Taylor being three of the appraisers appointed to appraise the goods and chattles of Jesse Lott , late of Edgefield District deceased, who being duly sworn, made oath that would make a just and true appraisement of all and singular the goods and chattels of the said Jesse Lott, deceased, as shall be produced by Elbert Lott, admr of the Estate of the said deceased, and that they would return the same certified under their hands unto the said Elbert Lott on or before the 2nd day of December. Sworn the day and year above written before me Lewis Holmes John Lott Wm Mobley Freeman Taylor Administration Bond Edgefield Advertiser Print State of South Carolina Edgefield District Know all men by these presents, that we, Elbert Lott, Wade Barronton, Emsley Lott and John A Lott are held and firmly bound unto Oliver Towles Esq Ordinary of the district, aforesaid, in the full and just sum of three thousand dollars, good and lawful money of the said State, to be paid to the said Oliver Towles, his successors Ordinaries of this District, or their certain attorney or assigns: to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, and every of us, our and every of our heirs, executors and administrators, for the whole and in the whole jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.
