John Mullican to Ogden Cockeroft,Deed,30 December 1805. Four Hundred fifty
dollars,eighty acres,being part of 450 acres originally granted to Arthur Watson
7 Jan 1788,also 180 acres which was conveyed by sd Watson to Anderson Winsor by
L&R 28 and 29 May 1780,bounded by a small branch near whats caled the Cattail
Pond,also 52 acres granted to sd John Mullican 6 Sept 1802 by his Excellancy
John Drayton.Wit David Still./s/John Mullican,/s/Mary(x)Mullican.Proven 15 Apr

(In 1778 South Carolina approved a bounty land grant program for men who served
in the South Carolina Continental Line or the State Navy during the Revolution.
It may be that Arthur was granted this land for Revolution Military Service or
rendering assistance,aid,and comfort for the Cause.)
