Wilkin C Smith  }  Deed of Conveyance
       To       }  South Carolina       Know all men by these presents that I 
Allen Body      }  Wilkin C Smith of Edgfield District & State aforesaid for & 
in consideration of the Sum of Two hundred & fifty Dollars to me paid by Allen 
Body of the Same place have granted bargained Sold and released by these 
presents do grant bargain Sell & release unto the sd Allen Body a Certain Tract 
of Land Containing One Hundred Acres be the same more or less Situated in 
Edgefield District on Cloud Creek waters of Saluda and being part of a Tract 
Originally granted to Job Padget by his Excellancy Charles Pinkney Esqr 
Governor & of the State aforesaid beginning at a Post Oak 3x from thence 
running to post oak 3x adjoining Job Padget and from thence to Pine 3x thence 
running to Post Oak 3x from thence to Red Oak 3x on Grigsbys old road, then 
running with the sd old road to ___ 3x from thence to Pine 3x from thence to 
Hickory 3x on a rock from thence to Hickory 3x & from thence to the beginning 
3x.  Together with all Singular the rights members hereditaments & 
appurtenances to the Issues belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining.  
To have & to hold & all Singular the premises
before mentioned and the sd Allen Body his heirs & assigns forever & I do 
hereby bind myself my heirs Executors & Administrators to warrant & forever 
Defend all & Singular the sd premises unto the sd Allen Body his heirs & 
assigns against myself & my heirs & assigns and any other person or persons 
whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part or parcel     
thereof  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 31st 
March1810 & 24th year of the American  Independence  Signed Sealed & Delivered

South Carolina     }  I Elijah Watson one of the Justices of the Peace do 
Edgefield District }  hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that Janey 
Smith the wife of the within Wilkin Smith did this day appear before me and 
after being privately and separately Examined by me did declare that she did 
freely voluntarily and without any Compulsion dread or fear of any person or 
persons whomsoever renounced released and forever relinquished unto the within 
named Allen Bodie his heirs and and assigns all her Interest and rights and 
also all her right and claim of Dower of in and to all and singular the 
premises within mentioned and _______  Given under my hand and Seal the 17 of 
July 1810

South Carolina    }  Personally appeared before me William Jones and after  
Edgefield District } being duly Sworn in & he saw ______ sayeth on his Oath 
that he was present and did see the within named Wilkin C Smith Sign and as his 
_____ and did deliver the same and at the same time Andrew Herrin assigned his 
name atested with himself to the due Execution thereof.  Sworn the 17 of July
