Logan, sister of Lee Strom of Greenwood, died recently at her home in Edgefield county, according to the following from this week's Edgefeld Advertiser: Mrs. Emma Strom Logan died about midnight Tuesday, January 19, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. H. Whitlock. Mrs. Logan had been in bad health for the past ten years and for the last five years had been confined to her room for the greater part of the time. All that loving hands could do was done for her comfort during these declining years. She was 86 years 10 months and days of age, being the eldest daughter of Col. Samuel Strom and wife, Mary Ann. There were twelve children in this family. She was twice married, the first time to Eddie Reynolds, and to this union two girls were born. She later married James W. Logan of Greenwood, and to this union five children were born. She is survived by the following children, Mrs. T. H. Whitlock of Trenton, Mrs. Eddie Reynolds Penn of Eureka, and R. A. Logan of Pleasant Lane; also one sister, Mrs. Lee Strom of Greenwood; 23 grand-children; nine great-grandchildren, and numbers of nieces and nephews and other relatives. The funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the graveside by Rev. H. P. J. L'heueux, in the absence of the pastor, Mr. Thomason. She was laid to rest by the side of her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Whitlock, in the Whitlock cemetery. Mrs. Logan was born and reared in the Gilgal community. She always lived a Christian life, being a member of Gilgal church since early childhood. To her this was a hallowed spot. She was kind and considerate neighbor, always ready to help those in need. We know that she has just fallen asleep in Jesus to await His coming.
