Edgefield Advertiser, 4-16-1862

Luther Lott, a PVT in Co E, 7th Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers, died at 
Richmond, VA on March 15, 1862, in the 24 th year of his age.  He enlisted in 
the Confederate service in April 1861.  He was a member of the Baptist Church a 
t Dry Creek.  His remains were brought to his father's residence and buried by 
his fellow soldiers on the 23rd.
