William Lott died at his home near Johnston. A gallant survivor of the Lost Cause, a sterling citizen and a high-toned gentleman has passed over the river. William Lott's name was a synonym of virtue, honor and nobility of character . Not only the community in which he lived, but the entire county feels deeply this bereavement. A devoted wife, and affectionate daughter and four sons survive this good man. His remains were laid to rest in the Johnston cemetery on Monday afternoon.
