I James Cox of Edgefield County and state of South Caroline being weak of body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the mortality f my body and ____ that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that's to say first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of God that gave it & for my body I recommend to the Earth to be decently and in a Christian like manner buried at the discretion (LINE MISSING) Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. One as touching such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to give me in this life I give and dispose of in the manner following. First of all my will and desire is ...I leave my plantation where on I live and premises with all my lands be sold and equally divided into ______one third to my Dear loving wife (LINE MISSING) ___________has the first choice with two mares one brown bay mare and Rone gray mare My hogs are to be divided in to three parts one part to my wife Jehn Cox with all my house in furniture all the above mentioned is for the use and support of her to dispose of as she see fit. I do hereby _______ and appoint Jehn Cox my executor over his estate and the rest of my property is to be divided equally between my two children one third of the value of the land and one third of the cattle one third of the hogs to my loving son James Cox and the same to my loving daughter_____ Gngiram.
