	In the name of God amen I Samuel Zimmerman of Edgefield District, 
State of South Carolina being of sound and disposing mind and memory but weak 
in body and calling to mind the uncertainty of life and being destined to 
dispose of all such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with do 
make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following that is to 
say
             First: I desire that after my decease all my just debts of 
funeral expenses be paid out of what I leave at my decease, not interfering 
with anything I have here to fore given out to my several children unless the 
same be needed for said debts or expenses of account of a deficiency in the 
balance of my estate at my death.
	Secondly: I desire that my daughter Mary Anne Andrews  shall have a 
negro girl name Caroline together
with her offspring to my said daughter Mary Anne and her children forever also 
all other goods or chattels I have here to fore given to my said daughter & 
forever And I also desire that my daughter Eliza Spikes shall have a negro 
girl named Charlotte together her offspring to my said daughter Eliza and her 
offspring forever also all other goods or Chattels I have here to fore given 
to my said daughter & forever.
	And I also desire that my son George S Zimmerman shall have a negro 
boy name Charles Also my chest of clothes, razor and all my shaving utensils 
to my said son George and his heirs forever also all goods or chattels I have 
here to fore given to my said son & forever.
And I also desire that my daughter Melinda Zimmerman shall have a negro named 
Hannah together with her offspring, a horse& saddle a cow & calf, a sow & 
pigs, a bed & stand & covering to my said daughter Melinda due without having 
children then her share to go to my other children equally in the same way 
that theirs are given to them severally.
	And I also desire that my daughter Sarah Charles shall have a negro 
name Dinah together with her offspring to my said daughter Sarah and her 
children forever also all my goods or chattels I have here to fore given my 
said daughter & forever.
	And I also desire that my daughter Martha Seigler shall have a negro 
name Pamelia together with her offspring to my said daughter Martha and her 
children forever also all my other goods or chat tells I have here to fore 
given my said daughter & forever.
	Thirdly: I desire that after my death my wife Margaret Zimmerman shall 
have all my residue of my estate
after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid and excepting that here in 
before willed to my several chil
dren, as well real as personal, for and during the term of my said wife, 
natural life and if she fails
to make a support for the place then hire out such of the negros as she can 
best do without or sell such
other property as can be spared to make said wife to support the place and 
after my wife’s death
all the property left her, her lifetime (except she may have sold something in 
aiding her to make a support then
except that that been sold according to directions) shall be sold to the 
highest bidder and the proceeds
of sale after giving to my several daughters the following sums of money to 
them and their children forever; to wit: Mary Anne Andrews four hundred 
dollars Eliza Spikes four hundred dollars Melinda Zimmerman four hundred 
dollars Sarah Charles four hundred dollars and Martha Seigler four hundred 
dollars.
Also I will to release my son George S Zimmerman from all judgments I the said 
testor hold against the said G S Zimmerman and the balance of the proceeds of 
sale after my wife’s death to be equally divided between my several children 
here in before named forever or any of them be dead their share to go to those 
legally entitled to the same.
	Fourthly: and lastly I constitute and appoint my wife Margaret 
Zimmerman my Executrix and my son
in law G H Seigler of the my last will and testament by me here to fore made 
in testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this 
the fifth  day of  December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred 
sixty one and the eighty fifth year of the independence of South Carolina.
