No date given..I , Mary Hill, being of perfect mind and memory. I loan to my daughter-in-law Margarett Hill one negro man named Prince until my grand-son Abell Hill arrvives to the age of twenty-one years, but should my daughter-in-law should marry again, then the said negro Prince to be bound out until my grandson comes to that age, if this take place the the money arising to be equally divided amongst my nine grandchildren viz: Elizabeth, Pricella, Mary, Nan, Sarah, Samuel, John, William and Abell Hill.. When my grandson comes of age twenty-one years I desire that the negro Prince shall be sold on a credit of twelve months and the money divided amongst my five granddaughters viz: Elizabeth, Pricella, Mary, Sarah and Nan.. I give to my grandsons Samuel, John, William and (torn, Abell)Hill the sum of $200 each.. I(torn) dtr. Nancy Cox $400 provided she does not serve any claim against (blurred) estate Samuel Hill decd. One by what she is entitled to from the sale of the land of the deceased.. I give to my dtr. Susannah Kilcrease one negro woman Hannah to be taken at the appraisement.. I give to my dtr. Mary Loveless one negro boy named Sanely, one feather bed & one cow & calf to be taken at the appraisement.. I give to my dtr. Vesay Jennings one negro girl named Ody, one feather & furniture & one cow & calf to be taken at the appraisement.. I give to my dtr. Harriet Hill one negro named Pink one feather bed & furniture one cow & calf to be taken at appraisement.. All the remainder of my estate to be equally divided amongst my eight dtrs. Viz: Nancy Cox, Elizabeth Daley, Susannah Kilcrease, Mary Loveless, Vesay Jennings & Harriet Hill. I appoint my friend Charles Hammond & John Key as executor.. Wit:Kellosyne? I do hereby certify That the within has been shown to me as a true copy of the original will of Mary Hill, decd. Which is said to be destroyed or lost with a will for him about three years ago, I was left as one of her executors with john Key but_______ sinning and believe the will to be the substance the amount of will I wrote for her certifyed this 11 Nov. 1822.. The original will was evidently lost, but two witnesses, Charles Hammond who wrote the original will for her, and William S. Rotten write affidavits. In the name of God Amen, I Mary Hill of the State of SC and District of Edgefield being of sound mind ... First I loan to my daughter-in-law Margarett Hill one negro man Prince until my grandson Abell Hill arrives at the age of 21 years, but if my said daughter-in-law Margarett Hill should marry before that time then the said negro Prince shall be hired out by the Exec. until my grandson Abell Hill arrives to that age & the money arising therefrom shall be equally divided between my nine grandchildren to wit: Elizabeth, Pricilla, Mary, [Naza/Nan], Sarah, Samuel, John, William & Abell Hill and when my grandson Abell Hill arrives at the age of twenty one , Prince shall be sold to the highest bidder on a credit of 12 months and the money divided between my five granddaughters to wit: Elizabeth, Pricilla, Mary, Sarah and [Nuza/Nan] Hill. I give unto my four grandsons Samuel, John, William and Abell Hill the sum of two hundred dollars . I give unto my daughter Nancy Cox, four hundred dollars, provided she does not come with any claim against the Estate of Samuel Hill dec'd only what she is entitled to from the sale of the land of said dec'd. I give unto my daughter Susannah Kilcrease one negro woman Hannah to be taken at the appraisement.
