The entire adm. would be found Box 96-3892 on microfilm at the SC State Archives, in Columbia, SC Will written 1 Nov 1862 lists 6 children. Executor William Haltiwanger Probated 6 Oct 1869. South Carolina, Edgefield Dist: [Elijah Holloway married 1st Jordan, d/o John Jordan. He married 2) Sophia Rowe.] I, Elijah Holloway of the State and District aforesaid considering the uncertainty of life being of Sound Mind and Memory do leave this my Will and my last Will and Testament as follows: in the first place I bequeath unto my wife Sophia if she is the longest liver one bed and furniture namely the bed she occupies at this present time (my spaces here, it all runs together in will) next- I bequeath unto the children of Frances Waites fifty-two acres of land namely the land whereon Francis now lives laid of by R. J. Dyson the land to be a home for the said Francis and her children so long as they wish to remain on it or during the lifetime of said Frances Waites or Henry Waites their father after which I leave my Executor to sell the said fifty-two acres of Land and divide the proceeds equally with the children of said Frances Waites. Then I leave the land Whereon I now live being 178 acres for Mary my youngest daughter and my son Seth and their Mother, to be a home for them so long as Mary remains Single provided Seth wishes to live on the land and take care of his Mother and Sister. but provided Seth does not outlive me and Mary wishes not to live on the place I leave the land to be sold when the other property is sold but if Seth wishes to live on the land and take care of his Mother and Sister he shall have the privilege to clear land or make any improvements on the place which he may think necessary provided Mary marries before or after my decease I leave my Excecutors to Sell the land when the other property is sold after my decease or when she marrys after my decease; the fifty-two acres of land which I leave Henry Waites and Frances his wife's children if it ever pays to them Frances part of my estate the said Henry Waites must pay the children of said Frances until it becomes equal with Execution of Elmina I bequest unto her one hundred dollars more than an equal share wit the other children. I also bequeath unto my daughter Mary a bed and furniture. I then leave my Exceutor to sell all of the property except the above named and divide the proceeds equally with six children namely Emily, Elmina, Jemima, Leanah, Mary and Seth. First pay all of my just debts and dues the hundred dollars which I leave to Elmina to be paid unto her when the land is sold by my Executor I wish the land and all of the property to be sold on the premises. And I hereby nominate and appoint William Haltiwanger sole Executor to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 1st day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two (1862) and in the eighty sixth year of the independence of the Confederate Sates of America.....Signed and Sealed and Delivered In the presence of Elijah Holloway (LS) Theophilus Dean Charles Carter Wm.
