C, Page 324, Typescript Written: July 13, 1822 Recorded: August 26, 1826 Will of Martha Moore In the Name of God Amen – I Martha Moore of the district of Edgefield and State of South Carolina – being sick and Weak in body but of sound and disposeing Mind Memory and Understanding Praised be God for the same so make and declare this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following 1st - I lend to my Son Green Moore dureing the term of his Natural Life my Tract of Land on the Main road leading from Cambridge to the Ridge also one Negroe Wench Named Jane about Forty Years of age – 2nd - I lend to my Daughter Mary Wilson dureing the Term of her Natural life for the better Support of her and her Children one Negro Boy named Willis about Ten Years of age 3rd - I lend to my Daughter Elizabeth Culbertson during. the term of her Natural life for the better Support of her and her Children One Negroe Boy Named Jack abot Eight Years of Age – 4th - I give to my son Green Moore his Heirs and Assigns – Forever One Negroe Boy Named Moses – and all the House Hold and Ketchen funiture Plantation Tools and My Horse except – two Beds and funiture which I shall herein give to my Grand Children – which said Negroe Moses – Funiture Tools and Horse is to be considered if Accepted of by my said Son Green in full of all Demand he has against me up to the date hereof 5th - To my Grand Son William Norrell his heirs and assigns. I give one Negro boy Named George about Twelve Years of Age my New Bed and funiture and two Cows and one Yearling Also after the death of my Son Green Moore I give to my said Grand Son William the Tract of Land on the Road leading from Cambridge to the Ridge and the Negroe Wench named Jane ------------------------------------------------------------ 6th - At the death of my Daughter Mary Wilson. the Negroe Willis, that I have Lent to her dureing her life. I give to be equally divided among her Children. to them their Heirs and assigns forever---------------------------------------------------------- 7th - At the death of my Daughter Elizabeth Culbertson the Negro Jack that I have lent to her during her life, I give to be equally divided among his children to them their Heirs and Assigns forever 8th - To my Grand Son Samuel Harris I give one Negroe Boy named Wiley to him his Heirs and Assigns Forever 9th - to My Grand Daughter Martha and Mary Ann Wilson I give my Old Bed & funiture to them their Heirs and assigns forever 10th - To my Grand Daughter Martha Norrell I give One Hundred Dollars to be paid her in four Anual. Instalments the first to be paid at the expiration of One Year from my Death – which said One Hundred Dollars is to be Paid by my Son Green Moore and my grand Son William Norrell out of the Property I have herein given them – In Witness whereof I have here unto subscribed my Name and fixed my Seal – this the thirteenth day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred Twenty Two And Lastly I do Appoint My Son Green Moore and my Grand Son William Norrell Executors of this my last Will and Testament---------------------------- Signed Sealed published and declared by the above Named Martha Moore as and for her last will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request and in her presence have Subscribed our Names as Witness there to – At the top of this sheet add, (& furniture) after Bed- Jacob Corley Martha her mark Moore (SEAL) Jacob Norrell Thos.
