Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: ViniL@aol.com 4 Jun 2000 ---------------------------------------- WILL OF JOSEPH RAYBOURN In the name of God, Amen, the twelfth day of January, one thousand seven hundred and ninety three, I, Joseph Raybourn of Rockey Creek in Edgefield County and State of South Carolina, being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and memory, thanks be to God, and calling to mind the mortality of my body and that is appointed for all men once to die, I make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say; Principally and first of all I recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it, nothing doubting but I shall receive the same again at the General Resurrection by the might power of God, and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executors and as touching or concerning such worldly estate or good wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I leave, give and dispose of the same in the manner and form following to witt,------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- Imprimis, I give and leave to my beloved wife Ann Raybourn the use of my Clear Land during her life to raise our children on, together with a mare named Bourne and all my hoggs, grain of every sort and house furniture, and at her death I order and allow my land to be equally shared or divided amongst our four sons--- Item I give and leave to my son Alexander one yearling Stallion colt--------------------- Item I give and leave to my son Anthony Raybourn a large sorrel horse---------------- Item I give and leave to my son Joseph one horse------------------------------------------------- Item I give and leave to my son George the colt my wife's mare is big of. Item I give and leave to my three daughter, Sarah, Susanna, and Ann all the cattle they already have the name of----------------------------------------------------------------------- Item I give and leave to my two sons William and John Raybourn and to my two daughters, Elizabeth and Mary, one shilling each one, and I order and allow my wife as soon as possible to make up a feather bed of thirty pounds for each of her children---------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- And I nominate, constitute, appoint my said wife Ann, and my said son Alexander, my sole executors of this my Last Will------------------------------------------------- Disallowing and disannulling all other or former wills or legacys, ratifying and confirming this and no other, my Last Will and Testament.
