I Samuel Satcher of the Edgefield District, being weak in Body But of Perfect mind and memory Thanks be to God Calling into mind the mortallity of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die. do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament. That is to say Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my soul into the had of Almighty God that gave it and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Buried in decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of Executors nothing Doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Miighty Power of God - and as touching such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give, demise, and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First I give and Bequeath to Fanny, my well Beloved wife all my household furniture and Plantation Tools or utensils also all my hogs & cattle and Corn and fodder and sheep and Hogs that are not otherwise disposed of also my horse and waggon during her life Also I give unto her one Negro wench called Dinah and one Negro fellow called Harry during her life. Also I give to each of my sons Amos, Samuel, Hezekiah, Arthur, Robert Willis and Silas More Satcher one shilling sterling to each of them to be raised and levied out of my estate I give to my three daughters Eunice Humphreys, Hannah Bruce and Mary Azbell one shilling Sterling to each of them I constitute and appoint Amos W. Sotcher with Fanney my wife to be my Executor of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments wills Legacies Bequests and executions(?) by me in any wise before named willed and Bequeathed Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty seventh Day of January One Thousand Eight Hundred & thirteen. (27 Jan 1813) Signed sealed published and pronounced by the said Samuel Sotcher being as his last will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names.
