In the name of God, Amen. I, Arthur Watson of the state and aforesaid, being in perfect health and of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, but calling to mind, the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men, once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God, that gave it and my body, I re- commend to the earth, to be buried in a decent Christian burial, at the descretion of my executors. Nothing doubting, but at general resurrection, I shall receive the same again, by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate, where with it has pleased God to bless me within this life. I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First, I give and bequeath unto my well beloved children, hereafter named to wit. my son Richmond Watson and Hezekiah Watson and Abner Watson and Fanny Satcher, Patience Eidson and Lydia Warrin, one shilling sterling to each of them to be believed out of estate and no more, by reason I have already given them their portions. Also, I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son, Arthur Rice Watson, one negro boy named Job, Also I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son, Absalom Watson, five negroes, one named Isaac, one boy named Gurdin, one woman named Honour and her increase, the other women named Vilet and her increase, one negro gal called Dol, horses and my stock of every kind and all my house-hold and furniture of every kind to my son Absalom Watson and his heirs forever. And lastly, I constitute, make and order my well beloved son Absalom Watson and John Eidson sole executors. I impower them to sell my estate at private sale or public sale as they think proper or best to pay any demands that shall come against my estate, that are lawful. The said John Eison to have one dollar per day and reasonable expences for his trouble of this my last Will and Testament, and I do hereby utterly disallow former testaments, wills, legacies, bequeaths and executors by me in any ways before named willed and bequeathed ratifing and confirming this and no other, to be my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and six (17 Feb 1806) and in the thirtieth year of the independence of the United States of America. Signed, sealed published and pronounced and declared by the said Arthur Watson, as his Last Will and Testament and in the presence of each other have here unto subscribed our names as witnesses. Personally appeared before me Burrel Arrington and Absalom Shurley, who being duly sworn, do make oath and say they was present and saw Arthur Watson, sign, seal and deliver the within to be his Last Will and Testament, and that the said Arthur Watson, was then of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of the disponants knowledge and belief, and that they saw Charity Arrington sign his name as a witness thereto, at the request of the testator.
