I William White of the County of Edgefield and State of South Carolina, being Sick and weak in body, but of Sound and disposing, mind, memory, and understanding, praised be God for the same, do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to Say I commit and commend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it, And my body to receive a decent Christian Interment—at the discretion of my Executrix and Executors hereafterNamed hoping for a blefsed resurrection to Everlasting Life— And as to my Worldly Goods which God has blefsed me with I Give and bequeath them in the manner and form following. First, I give and Bequeath unto my Kind and loving wife Susannah White the Plantation or Tract of Land whereon I now live, And four Negros, namely tittle Jacob, Marindy, Jack and Rose, all the household furniture, the whole of my [word: “?????” struck out] stock and Plantation Tools, during her Natural life, And after her Decease, to be divided as shall be here after directed. Second, I give and bequeath unto my Son Henry White two negros namely, Lucy and Jan. Also one Bed and furniture, now in his pofsedsion, to him and his Heirs forever. Third. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Betty Pollard, two negros; namely, Ben and Grace, one feather bed and furniture, now in her pofsefsion, to her and her Heirs forever. Fourth. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Tilley, / and her two children Robin and Mary—One negro Girl Silvy one feather Bed and furniture, now in her pofsefsion to her and her Heirs forever. Fifth. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Polly Wilson two negr namely Juner and Cate One feather Bed and furniture, now in her p pofsefsion, to her and her Heirs forever. Sixth. I give and bequeath unto my Son George White One negro boy Sam, One feather Bed and furniture And two hundred Dollars [word struck out] in money to him and his Heirs forever. Seventh I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sukey White, One negro woman Moll and her child Efsec, One bed and furniture to her and her Heirs forever. Ninth—I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah White And negros boy Solomon One feather Bed and furniture And three hundred Dollars in money to her and her heirs forever. Tenth I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Tabitha White, One negro boy Sam One feather Bed and Furniture And three hundred Dollars in money, to her and her Heirs forever. Eleventh I give and bequeath unto my Son Charles White One negro boy Tom and one negro Harry, One feather Bed and furniture and two hundred Dollars in money to him and his Heirs forever. Twelth I give and bequeath unto my Son Richard Moore White two negros namely Frank and Bob One feather Bed and furniture And two hundred dollars in money to him and his Heirs forever. It is my will that the Two negroes boys Jacob and Sall (not mentioned in the above will) Should be sold after my deceased discretionally by my Executors And the amount of the sale there of be Equally divided among all my Children--- - And that if any of my Children Should die before they come of Age, or without Ifsue that the part willed to them Should be Equally divided amongst my surviving Children It is also my will that my Executors and Executrix Collect all the money together with what I now have, the Several sum by me willed to my above Named Children George, William Sarah, Tabith Charles and Richard Moore White, be paid unto them, and [word struck out] Should there be any over plus after paying the above said Children then I direct and it is my will that the said overpllus be Equally devided between my Children------ I further will and [word struck out] direct that after My wife Deceased that the whole of the propery left her during her life, that is to say the land four negros, House hold furniture Stock and plantation Tools Should be Sold at the discretion of my Executors and the whole amount of Sale ther of Equally devided Among my Children Lastly I do herby Nominate, Constitute and appoint my Said Wife Susanna White Executrix Anad my Sons Tom, Henry, George, and William White, And my Son in law David Lilley My Executors of this my last will and Testament herby revoking And making…” [End of Page Two] [Start of Page Three] Will of William WHITE Page 3 “…void all former wills and testaments at any time thereto fore by me made and do declare this my last will Testament.
