Cogburn, one of the subscribing witnesses-same time qualified Austin and Wade Barrenton, Executors. This the 2nd January 1852. John Hill, OED State of South Carolina Edgefield District In the name of God, Amen I, Elisha Barronton of said Dist, bring of sound disposing mind and memory, and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, and being desirous to dispose of that portion of this world's effects with which it hath pleased God to bless me; do make and ordain this my last will and testament, in manner following, viz; 1st I desire that immediately after my death my executors sell to the highest bidder all my estate, both real and personal; and after all my just debts be paid, the proceeds f my said effect to be disposed of as follows viz: First , I give and bequeath to my daughter, Dimpsey Lott ten dollars and no more! Second, I give and bequeath to the children of my deceased son Willis Barronton, ten dollars and no more! Third, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Milley Barronton, One Thousand Dollars to be held in trust by my executors for her support so long as she may live; and at her death, the remaining portion of the said sum of One thousand to be equally divided between my sons Austin and Wade Barronton on their surviving heirs. Fourth, I give and bequeath unto my son Austin Barronton one half of the remainder of my estate; and to my son Wade Barronton, the other half of the said remainder or unappropriated part. Fifth, I hereby nominate my said sons Austin and Wade Barronton Executors to this my last will and testament. Sixth, I hereby declare this to be my last will, revoking all others heretofore made. I witness whereof, I have herunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this twenty sixth day of June, AD, One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty, and of American Independence seventy fourth. Cogburn who being duly sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God, deposeth that he was present and saw Elisha Barronton, deceased, Sign , Seal and acknowledges the foregoing instrument of writing to be and contain his last will and testament and that the said Elisha Barronton and was there of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding the best of the de--- knowledge and beliefs that he together with J. Cogburn and J. Quattlebaum signed their names as witnesses at the request of the testator in his presence and in the presence of each other.
