Http://www.scdah.sc.gov/ Written: 1839 Recorded: July 26, 1839 IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN – I David Hamilton of Fairfield District and State of South Carolina, being sick and weak of body, but of sound mind and memory and understanding (praised be God for it) and considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of life, do now think fit and proper to make this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows. That is to say first and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and Redeemer, and my body I commit to the Earth to be buried in decent form according to the discretion of my Executors herein after named, ad what Worldly property it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I dispose of in manner and form as follows------- and first. I give to my Sister Margaret Wilson my Negro Woman named Edy---- 2nd I give to Elizabeth Wilson. (daughter of Margaret Wilson) my Negro woman named Dianna--- 3rd I give and bequeath to my brother William Hamilton, my negro man named Thomas, and my Negro Woman named Susey. and Also my Negro woman Named – Delila- 4th I give and bequeath to my Brother Robert Hamilton – my Negro Boy named George- and my Negro Girl named Patience and also my Negro Girl named Sophia- I also give and bequeath to my brothers William and Robert Hamilton all my Stock of Cows to be Equally Divided betwixt them—Share and Share alike— I give and bequeath to my brother Robert my Round Table—and also my Cupboard I also give to Robert my Old man I give to my brother William my Square Table I give and bequeath to my Nephew James Wilson all my plantation of Land – In Consideration of which he the said James Wilson is to pay to his brother William Wilson Two Hundred Dollars. in Money --- I give and bequeath to William Wilson my Desk – and I give to David Wilson my Scott large Bibles – I give to William Hamilton’s son William my young mare— and I give to Robert Hamilton’s Son David my other mare— I give and bequeath to my Sister Hannah Hamilton two hundred Dollars— And to my Sister Mary Porter two hundred Dollars And also to my Sister Sally Mc.
