Written: November 10, 1792 Recorded: January 20, 1792 Date Will Proved Will of William McCREIGHT In the Name of God Amen I William McCREIGHT of Jackson Creek parish of Mark Craven County being weak of body but of sound memory blefsed be God do this tenth day of November in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Six make and publish this my last will and Testament in the manner—following First I Give to my Son Robert McCreight Fifty acres of my plantation, and the young Colt Meager, & my Sadle Bridle & whit and Cow Strawberry and my blue Coat and white Jacket Also I Give to my son ^ John ^ McCreight Fifty acres of my plantation & the roent mare excepting the first Colt and the Cow Beauty & as much Leather as will make a Sadle out of the two Hides which is now, & my great Coat & reid Jacket and shu Bockels, Also I give to my son david McCreight one hundred acres of Land of my plantation and the Cow Cherry Also I Give to my youngest son William McCreight Fifty acres of my plantation and the Cow Blackleidy Also I give to my daughter Agnes McCreight Fifty acres of my plantation of the worth of the same which ever the Executors thinks most proper and fit to be done and she gets the First Colt of the roent mare & the Calf dortey, Also I give to my daughter Mary McCreight Fifty acres of plantation or the worth of the same which ever the Executors thinks most proper & fit to be done, and she gets the Heifer Calf filpen I also give my dear wife Agens McCreight fifty acres of my plantation and the Grey Horse her Sadle Bridle and whip and the cow Hetley, and the Bed that we slept on and I leave all my debts that I owe whatsoever to be paid by thee my said wife AND I make my Loven Neighbours & Freinds John Smith of Rockey Creek and David McCreight Junior of Jackson Creek & parish and County aforesaid Executors of this my last will to take care and see the same purformed according to my true Intent and meaning I Witnefs whereof I the said William McCreight have to this my last will and Testament set my hand and seal this day and year above written.” [End of Page One] [Start of Page Two] “…(Signed) William McCreight L.S. His daughter, Mary McCREIGHT, married Robert THOMPSON, after her father's death in 1792. Robert THOMPSON owned a plantation in Fairfield, Fairfield District, South Carolina, and died in late 1824. William McCREIGHT was awarded 400 acres of land in Craven County, South Carolina.
