Written: July 1, 1840 Will of GAN THOMPSON In the name of God Amen I Gan THOMPSON of Faifield District in the State of South Carolina do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. And as to such wordly estate as it hath pleased god to instrust me with I dispose of the same as follows. First I give to my Daughter Mary the / Tract of land or plantation whereon I now live. Als the Crop that is on it and my stock of hoarses. Cattle, hogs. Sheep & c. House hould and Kitchen furniture and plantation tools of all descriptions. 2nd. My daughter Mary to support her Mother Jane Thompson as long as she lives. off of the property that I will her above. and in case that she dies before her mother my two grand sons. John and Samuel Thompson to see that their Grand mother is supported off the property as long as she lives. And I do hereby make and ordain Hampton Williams, Executor of this my last will and testament. Grandsons John THOMPSON, 1817-1890, and Samuel THOMPSON, 1820-1870, are both buried with their wives, in the church cemetery of New Hope Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Douglass, Fairfield County, South Carolina, USA. Grandsons of GUAN THOMPSON, John THOMPSON, 1817-1890, and Samuel THOMPSON, 1820- 1870, were sons of Robert THOMPSON and of his wife, Mary McCREIGHT THOMPSON, both late of plantations in Fairfield, Fairfield District, South Carolina, USA. Mary McCREIGHT THOMPSON is believed to have been daughter of immigrant William McCREIGHT and of his wife, Agnes, late of Fairfield District, South Carolina. Immigrant William McCREIGHT left Belfast, Ireland, along with some 572 other families associated with Reverend William Martin, in five ships, in the fall of 1772, bound for Charles Town, South Carolina, USA.
