I, Robert Thompson of the State and district above Mentioned, being of Sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following-VIZ First I recommend my Soul to God and my body to the dust, to be buried in a decent Christian manner. Item 1st It is my will that all my just debts be paid and my funeral expenses. 2nd It is my will that my Wife Mary Thompson, have a support amongst my children, and provided for by them during her life time. 3rd It is my will to give and bequeath to my son Robert Thompson the tract of land purchased from Samuel Stone, containing Sixty acres. 4th It is my will to give and bequeath to my son John Thompson, - The tract of land purchased by me from John Roberts, containing fifty two Acres and a half- 5th It is my will to give and bequeath to my son Samuel Thompson, the old original tract of land, whereone I now live, containing one hundred and forty four Acres. I also give to him the following horses Patt and Fill and the mule colt—And also give him all the Stock of cows, except one cow and calf, also, give to him my stock of hogs, also all the house furniture, exception bed. 6th It is my will that my Son James Thompson, live with my son Samuel Thompson, and to be supported and provided for during his life time by him. 7th It is my will to give and bequeath to my daughter Mary McKeown one hundred dollars. 8th It is my will to give and bequeath to my daughter Elisabeth McKeown, one hundred dollars. 9th It is my will to give and bequeath to my daughter Jennet McKeown, one hundred dollars. 10th It is my will to give and bequeath to my daughter Anny…” [End of page One] [Start of Page Two] “…Thompson, all the money, arising from the Sale of the one hundred acres of land, situate in Chester District, given to me by my Father, Gaun Thompson, except three hundred dollars. Robert THOMPSON, Sr. petitioned for citizenship, at the age of 24 years, on April 19, 1809, in Fairfield County, South Carolina, as did his father, Gaun THOMPSON, 1756-1840, at the age of 51 years. Robert THOMPSON, Sr., 1785-1837, is believed to have married Mary McCREIGHT, daughter of immigrant William McCREIGHT, formerly of Ireland, late of Jackson Creek, St. Mark Parish, Craven County, South Carolina, USA. Will of William McCREIGHT was written November 10, 1792, in which his daughter, Mary McCREIGHT, was still presumed single as he left her legacy in her maiden name enumerated as 'Mary McCREIGHT'. Immigrant William McCREIGHT, set sail from Belfast, Ireland, in October, 1772, aboard the ship, The Pennsylvania Farmer, along with members of some other 572 families associated with the parish of Reverend William Martin, all sailing from Ireland, to Charles Town, South Carolina, USA, in the fall of 1772, aboard five [5] ships, and all arriving before the end of the year. Robert THOMPSON, Sr., 1785-1837, was son of immigrant Gaun THOMPSON, 1756-1840, and of his wife, Jane UNKNOWN THOMPSON, 1752-1848, both formerly of Ireland, and late of Fairfield County, South Carolina, USA. Gaun THOMPSON 1756-1840, and his wife, Jane UNKNOWN THOMPSON, 1752-1848, are both buried in the church cemetery at New Hope Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church, in Douglass, Fairfield County, South Carolina, USA.
