Gaymon Spirgon Maxie Gaymon, 51, farmer of Route 1, Effingham, died Wednesday in a local hospital following a brief illness. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Wilkes Cemetery by Rev. Joe Coward and Rev. Elliott Evans. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Gaymon was born in the Camp Branch section of Florence County, a son of the late Henry W. and Mary Floyd Gaymon. He had lived in Florence County all of his life. Surviving are his widow, the former Gettie Lee of Coward; three daughters, Mrs. William Lyerly of Florence, Miss Betty Margaret and Virgie Lee Gaymon both of the home; four sons, J.W. Gaymon of Effingham, Robert Legrand, Charles Edwards, and Maxie Jack Gaymon all of the home; three sisters, Mrs. R.H. Mims and Mrs. Albert Beard of Lake City and Mrs. Eli Floyd of Scranton; two brothers, John J. Gaymon of Effingham; and three grandchildren. The body is at the residence.
