On this 20th day of July A.D. one thousand eight hundred & fifty five,
personally appeared before me, a Notary Public & Ex. Off. one of the 
Magistrates within & for the District & State above named, Mrs. Rahab
Fields, aged about fifty seven years, a resident of Dickins District
in the State above named, who being duly sworn according to law declares
that she is the widow of John Fields, deceased, who was a private in the
Company commanded by Captain [blank] in the [blank] in the war of the
Revolution, that her said husband volunteered & served in the State of
Virginia & also in North Carolina & that she is now in receipt of a
pension for the Revolutionary services of her said husband, & that the
evidences of his services are on file in the office at Washington

She further states that she was married to the said John Fields in Dickens 
District aforesaid, on the 27th day of August A.D. 1822, by one Charles 
Durham, a Methodist mininster & that her name before her said marriage was 
Rahab Hooper; that her said husband died in Dickens District aforesaid on 
the 9th day of August 1842 & that she is now a widow. She makes this 
declaration for the prupose of obtaining the Bounty land to which she may 
be entitled. Approved 3rd march 1855
