J. W. Bullard J. W. Bullard departed this life on the 30th day of May 1916, at the age of 75 years. He leaves a wife, two sons, four daughters, and four sisters and a host of friends to mourn their loss. He was laid away to await the resurrection morn at Pleasant Meadow on the following day. His funeral services was conducted by the Rev. B. P. Coates. He was born in Columbus County, North Carolina, and was a Confederate Veteran and served four long years in the War Between the States. About forty years ago he moved to the Finklea section of Horry County and lived there until his death. Gone beyond the midst of shadows, Gone where trials all are over, Gone on to the Golden Shore. A precious one from earth is gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in the home Which never can be filled.
