Horry Herald May 7, 1903 
Mrs. Elizabeth E. Butler was born on Dec. 13th, 1831, and passed into the home
about on March 28th, 1903.   

She was converted and united herself with the church when quite young and
remained faithful until death. 

She was married to J. M. Butler on Feb. 17th, 1852, and was an affectionate
wife, a kind mother and grandmother and a true friend.  She was a sufferer for a
long time before her death, but always seemed cheerful even in her last moments.
She was a devoted Christian and appeared to live by the golden rule.  In her
death our church has lost one of its most faithful members whose place will be
hard to fill.  While she is greatly missed by all, we can be comforted, for she
is not dead, only gone on before.  May the Lord help us to follow in her steps.
