C., died Oct. 16th, 1900. He was 76 years, 4 months and 13 days old. He was a good neighbor, a kind friend, a loving husband, and a devoted father. He was a consistent member of Good Hope Baptist Church. He went through the Confederate War and was a faithful solider to the end. He came home in the year ’65 and has been at his home most of the time since. Papa is gone where we cannot meet and shake hands with him, and hear him talk and laugh but he left a good testimony, he told many he was going to rest in that beautiful home over there. He leaves a wife, 11 children, 75 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and one sister to mourn his loss, but we mourn no as if we had no hope for we feel sure we shall see him again in that blissful region beyond, where pain and sorrow are felt no more.
