Mrs. Eliza Johnson Jenrette

Mrs. Eliza Johnson Jenrette, nee Johnson, wife of Samuel T. Jenrette Sr., was 
born Aug. 11th, 1829 and died Oct. 4th, 1900 near the place of her birth, 
Zoan, Horry County, S.C.

For many years before, and up to the time of her death, she was a consistent 
member of Zoan M. E. Church, living a life as would be well for many to 
emulate. She was fond of, and up to a few months before her death seldom 
failed to attend sanctuary worship.

During the many months of her last and painful illness, which she bore without 
a murmur, she should plainly many times the faith she had in her Saviour.

She was the mother six sons and seven daughters, nine of whom, three sons and 
six daughters, with her husband, all of whom are all well known throughout the 
county, survive her.

Truly her descendents have a precious heritage in her noble Christian life and 
triumphant death. May they follow her as she followed Christ.
