Joiner Peter J. Joiner passed from this life to the life eternal October 2nd, 1908. Mr. Joiner’s death was indeed a sad and unexpected one. He was at Bell’s fishery on or near Cherry Grove Beach and was playing with a number of boys, including his younger brother, when he fell speechless to the ground. In a moment life was extinct. The remains were taken home where a large crowd of friends and relatives had gathered to meet the inanimate body of one ever so loyal and true. He was the son of Thomas and Izzadore Joiner and having attained the age of about twenty years, he had experienced the greater part of his life as an orphan. While fatherless he had no lacking of friends and was respected and regarded by all who knew him, as an honest and truthful spoken boy. It was hard, so hard to part with him but its not our will, but God’s will be done. The interment took placed at the Wampee Burying Ground where a large crowd of friends and relatives gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to the dead body. May God comfort and bless them bereaved family.
