P. Ludlam On December 5th, 1912 Mrs. Ceilie E. Ludlam, wife of Rev. J. P. Ludlam, died at her home near Adrian. She was born Sept 4th, 1870, and in early life joined the Missionary Baptist Church at Pauley Swamp and was ever true to God, her church and family. No wonder that the end was easy, for her death was a triumphant one. She said she was ready to go and wanted all the family to meet her in Heaven, and sent like messages to her father, mother, brothers and sisters, who were absent. She repeated the 23rd Psalm and the verse, “Jesus can make a dying bed feel soft as downy pillows are.” May God comfort the bereft family and may they live so that they can die as she died. She was a sister of Supt. of Education, S.H. Brown and was a woman of highest type. She will be sadly missed in the community in which she lived. She was laid to rest in the Baker Cemetery in the presence of a crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends. Rev. D.D. Anderson conducted the funeral services. D. D. A.
