Child Killed at Florence


Little Ernest Brewer Sessions, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sessions who lived
in Florence was killed instantly at Florence on last Sunday afternoon in the
street, by the running of an omnibus over its body. The child was only six
months old. It had just returned from Sunday School and was playing in the
street with some other children, when the hotel omnibus passed along the street
and run over the child causing instant death. The driver claimed that the
vehicle was loaded high in the front with baggage and he could not see ahead of
the vehicle. He droved on to the station, seemingly in ignorance of the awful
deed he had committed, and he seemed to know nothing of the matter until he was
arrested at the station by the officers.


The child is the grandson of Mr. J. T. Sessions of Cebu. The remains were
brought to Adrian on Monday night and the interment took place at Poplar church
on Tuesday morning, the services were conducted by the Rev. A. D. Betts of
Conway Methodist Church.
