Stalvey, 86, Horry County, Dies February 27 Preston A. Stalvey, retired carpenter of the Savannah Bluff section of Horry County, died at 9:10 pm Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.B. Singleton following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Savannah Bluff Holiness Church with the pastor the Rev. J.R. Cohn and the Rev. P.R. Bigby of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Conway officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway. Active pallbearers will be Waterman Johnson, Hampton Smith, Herman Roach, Evan Marlowe, Howard Wright and Johnny Foxworth. Friends may call at the residence of Mrs. Singleton until the hour of service. Mr. Stalvey was born in the Socastee section of Horry County Oct. 21, 1869, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bentley Stalvey. He attended the Savannah Holiness Church(sic). Survivors include two sons, the Rev. B.S. Stalvey and Lonnie Stalvey; two daughters Mrs. W.B. Singleton and Mrs. Rob. Causey all of Conway; 35 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
