Death of J. B. Strickland


Successful Farmer and Good Citizen Passes to Great Beyond.


J. B. Strickland, a successful and a good citizen of the Galivants Ferry
section, passed to his reward on July 28, at the age of about 60 years, leaving
his second wife and 13 children to mourn his loss of a husband and father. The
circumstances of his death were sad. He went into the woods to attend to some
bee hives he had there, his children going with him. He sent the children on
ahead as he returned. He fell at the gate as he was going on back to the
dwelling. He lived only a few hours and died.
