Flanders Thompson [Sr] was resident in Laurens County, South Carolina, from 1780 through 1830; his Revolutionary War Pension was awarded for his service in the Continental Line [[ "THOMPSON, Flanders: Va. Battalion, 1 and 10 CL; 10 CL; 14 CL" [2] ]] from the State of Virginia, where he mustered in for service at Halifax, in 1776, and was subsequently awarded to him while residing in the State of South Carolina. This hearing reflects the petition and affadavit by one of his children in regard to reinstating his pension for the heirs, after the date of their mother, and Flanders Thompson, Sr.'s widow, Elizabeth Green THOMPSON... 1850 "State of Georgia Lumpkin County Be it known that before me Patrick O'Connor, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County & State duly authorized by law to administer oaths personally appeared Elisabeth Singleton, a person whose statements are entitled to full credit and made oath according to law that she is the child of Flanders Thompson who was a Pensioner of the United States in Pickens District, South Carolina the rate of 96 dollars per annum that he died in the year 1830 leaving a widow, Elisabeth Thompson (mother of deponent) that her mother said Elisabeth Thompson, remained the widow of said Flanders Thompson from the day of his death until the 2nd day of September 1844, it being the day of her death that said Elizabeth Thompson had only two childrn that is know[n] by deponent to be living or that has been heard from in 18 months namely herself and Mary Ann Singleton. Sworn to and subscribed this the 14th day of March 1850 before me. [Signed] Elisabeth [her mark] Singleton W. M. Warnum P. O'Connor, J. Peace: I, Jeremiah S. Chastain, Clerk of the Inferior Court in afor[e] said County, do certify that P.
