"State of Georgia

Lumpkin County

Be it known that before me Patrick O'Connor, a Justice of the Peace in and for 
said County & State duly authorized by law to administer oaths personally 
appeared Elisabeth Singleton, a person whose statements are entitled to full 
credit and made oath according to law that she is the child of Flanders 
Thompson [Sr.] who was a Pensioner of the United States in Pickens District, 
South Carolina [at] the rate of 96 dollars per annum that he died in the year 
1830 leaving a widow,  Elisabeth Thompson (mother of deponent) that her mother 
said Elisabeth Thompson, remained the widow of said Flanders Thompson from the 
day of his death until the 2nd day of September 1844, it being the day of her 
death that said Elizabeth Thompson had only two children that is know[n] by 
deponent to be living or that has been heard from in 18 months namely herself 
and Mary Ann Singleton.

Sworn to and subscribed this the 14th day of March 1850 before me.

I, Jeremiah S. Chastain, Clerk of the Inferior Court in afor[e] said County, do
certify that P. O'Connor whose name appears to the foregoing declaration is an
acting Justice of the Peace duly commissioned and qualified and that his 
signature to the same is genuine this 16th March 1850.

Additional Comments:
? Flanders THOMPSON, and his wife, Elizabeth GREEN THOMPSON, were residents of 
Laurens District, South Carolina, after their marriage in 1781 unti they 
removed to the Pendleton District, in the early 1820's; he died in 1831.  
Elizabeth GREEN THOMPSON removed to Lumpkin County, Georgia, where she 
continued to live until her death in 1844.
