The cemetery for First Baptist Church of Gaston is located behind the church. The cemetery is cut in half by a two-rutted road. The transcription of the cemetery (row 1) begins in the old section, the section closest to the church, with the graves that line Boy Scout Road. The new section transcription begins with the graves that line Church Street. This is due to the order in which people were buried. Directions to the church: From S.C.’s capital city of Columbia, travel South on Highway 321 until you reach the Town of Gaston. Turn right onto Mack/Main Street. Turn right onto Carlisle Street; turn left onto Oakey Springs Road. The church will be just ahead on your right. The cemetery contains the graves of persons with the following surnames: Aaron, Allen, Anderson, Atwood, Aultman, Bachman, Bailey, Baker, Barfield, Barrs, Brady, Barwick, Batchelor, Beckham, Benton, Bobbit, Boone, Bradley, Branham, Brooks, Brown, Bryant, Busbee, Busby, Caldwell, Carroll, Cartin, Cates, Chaney, Chavis, Colligan, Conner, Cooper, Corder, Craft, Culley, Cuthbert, Daniels, Day, Dowd, Eaves, Ellisor, Fallaw, Faust, Fitzgerald, Fleming, Furtick, Gantt, Gardner, Glover, Goodwin, Griffen, Griffin, Guignard, Gunter, Guyton, Hall, Hammond, Harley, Harsey, Hayes, Hays, Heiman, Helms, Henry, Hoffman, Howell, Huckabaa, Hulme, Hutto, Hyman, Jamison, Jeffcoat, Jernigan, Jumper, Keel, King, Kirby, Kirkland, Knight, Lahr, Laird, Laman, Lee, Lorenz, Lucas, Lybrand, Mack, Madden, Manuel, Martin, Mattocks, Mayers, McGill, McNeill, Miles, Miller, Mills, Moore, Moorer, Morris, Myers, Neese, Nickels, Norris, Nye, Ott, Pack, Padgett, Pelton, Perry, Pickrell, Porter, Pou, Pound, Powell, Price, Rast, Read, Redmond, Reese, Reynolds, Richter, Rikard, Rish, Rister, Roberts, Roof, Rowell, Sanders, Scharlock, Scott, Sessa, Sexton, Sharpe, Sheppard, Shumpert, Sightler, Simerly, Simpson, Skipper, Smith, Sphaler, Spires,Spradley, Stabler, Stroman, Sturkey, Sturkie, Tabb, Tate, Taylor, Todd, Toole, Wages, Watkins, Watson, Watts, Weathers, Weavil, Wells, Williams, Williamson, Wilson, Wise, Wright, Ziegler, Zinker.
